Portable Bathroom Rental Guide

portable bathroom Rental Guide

County Wide Septic has compiled a simple guide to help ensure a successful and positive bathroom rental experience for you and your guests.

County Wide Septic is taking the stress and potential ‘ick’ out of portable bathroom rentals.

When Should I book?

It's best to book your portable bathroom rental as early as possible. By scheduling in advance, you can ensure that you have the necessary number of units for your event and avoid any last-minute complications. County Wide Septic suggests booking Porta Johns at least 10 days prior to your event and Porta Lisa Trailers 6 months prior to your event. To book please give us a call at 989-588-4140.

How Many Porta Potties Do I Need?

When determining how many portable bathrooms you need, it's important to take into account the number of guests attending your event. As a general rule of thumb, one portable bathroom unit can typically accommodate up to 50 people for a few hours. However, if you anticipate a higher usage or longer duration, it's recommended to increase the number of units accordingly.

Please refer to this table provided by PSAI.

1 Hour 2 Hours 3 Hours 4 Hours 5 Hours 6 Hours 7 Hours 8 Hours
500 Guests 2 4 4 5 6 7 9 9
1,000 Guests 4 6 8 8 9 9 11 12
2,000 Guests 5 6 9 12 14 16 18 20
3,000 Guests 6 9 12 16 20 24 26 30
4,000 Guests 8 13 16 22 25 30 35 40
5,000 Guests 12 15 20 25 31 38 44 50
10,000 Guests 15 25 38 50 63 75 88 100

This chart is a great start but you may need to adjust slightly if you plan on

serving a large amount of food and drinks. CWS suggest providing at least

10-20% more units than recommended on this table.

Which style Should I get?

Portable bathrooms come in various types, including standard units, units with sinks, flushing units, handicap units and luxury portable bathroom trailers. Standard units are the most common and provide basic amenities such as a toilet, chemicals and hand sanitizer. Consider the specific needs of your guests when selecting the appropriate type of unit.

Where Should I put them?

To ensure a successful delivery, we ask that the location can easily be accessed with a delivery truck. This means that the ground should be level and either be paved or hard enough for the truck to drive on. Event guests will expect the portable bathrooms to be within short walking distance from the center of the event. If you are having a large event, setting up a couple different bathroom areas could be helpful.

Does The Weather Matter?

Is it going to be especially hot or cold? When the temperatures are very warm people tend to drink more which requires more frequent visits to the bathroom. If temperatures are cold, it might be nice to provide larger units to account for several layers of clothing. Better yet, consider renting a heated 2 or 4 stall bathroom trailers fully equipped with temperature control, water, and electricity. Regardless of which unit you pick, if you are expecting rain the units should be placed on higher ground and away from any potential flood zones.

How do I accommodate Guests with WheelChairs or special bathroom needs?

If you have guests with disabilities attending your event, it is essential to provide accessible portable bathrooms. We have both handicap and ADA units available. These units have wider doors to accommodate wheelchair users, hand rails, and more floor space. The handicap unit allows for a t-style wheelchair turn and the ADA units all for a full 360 wheelchair turn.

will you come clean and empty it?

County Wide Septic takes care of all maintenance and cleaning tasks for the portable bathrooms. The frequency of servicing is dependent on the duration of your rental period and size of your crowd. One thing that you can do to help keep the portable bathrooms clean is put large trash bins near them. When your units do need cleaned, we suggest working with our team to schedule servicing during the lower traffic times within your event schedule.

By following these guidelines provided by County Wide Septic, you can ensure a smooth and hassle-free portable bathroom rental experience for you and your guests. Feel free to reach out to us if you have any further questions or would like to schedule your rental.
